I am very excited to join this excellent school community. I have already seen so many wonderful examples that explain why Grandy is such a success. We have had parents already assisting the teachers getting their classrooms ready and I have heard about the amazing things that go on here!
I can assure you that I share in this school community’s dedication to caring for our students every day while providing them with a meaningful learning environment. I firmly believe that every child can exceed expectations and that the cooperation between home and school builds trust and self-esteem in students. My door is always open to you. I sincerely welcome your conversation and input during this year. I can’t wait to celebrate our collective successes during the 2022-2023 school year.
This 22-23 school year will mark my 25th year in education! I received my Bachelor’s in Elementary Ed from Southern Utah University and continued my education in North Carolina gaining a Masters in School Administration from UNC-G. I have worked mostly in elementary but did work in Middle School for a few years as well. I started my career in education as a 1st grade teacher. I strongly believe that when we build a firm foundation and love of learning it lasts a lifetime and puts students on the path to success. My favorite stage in early childhood is the why stage. Most people are annoyed that the child keeps asking why but I think it is brilliant and that it continues if we nurture that inquisitive attitude. My goal as an educator is to encourage the question why and allow opportunities for students to discover answers to their questions through experiences and problem solving for themselves so they will be lifelong learners! I moved into administration with the same growth mindset. I am devoted to continually exploring new ideas to meet the needs of all students. I operate on an open-door policy and hope you will all take advantage and come introduce yourselves when you are in the building. I look forward to meeting you and to another successful year.
